I heard stories of david thompson getting a quarter of the top of the backboard and also i heard earl the goat can do it too...It sounds impossible as your head would like be above the rim...if so whats the highest point that anyone has touched??

well travis outlaw of the trailblazers can tap above the square with only one step. and i've heard that he grabbed a quarter off the top. don't know for sure though, but it was through a recruiting service. it's not impossible, if you watch a lot of players can get their heads to about the rim, and you don't see people jumping as high as the absolutely can, just as high as they need to, because the higher up you get, the much more likely that you will get hurt coming down. it all depends on your height, your wingspan, the proportion of fast-twitch muscle in your legs, your vertical, and the efficiency of your jumping motion

Yeah it is physically possible. I remember watching Lebron in a clip doing the same thing as you mentioned, getting the quarter of the top of the backboard. Yeah, sounds impossible.

Well i like to use a ladder to touch the top of the backboard, i don't know about you guys though. I think if you jump rope everyday (improves your height of jumping) then it is, but you have to really work at it and be pretty light weight, 140-210lbs.depending on your work eithic or muscle strength.
