i know there are chains i can see and those that i cant. i know they have a degree of influence on me. but i also recognize that some of them are beneficial. perhaps this is the drawback of the 'social contract'

The chains that bind me were created long ago. They are links from the past that haunt me to this day. One by one I try to break those links by learning from those mistakes or abuses. I focus on the good in life as often as possible...count my blessings and be grateful for what I have and what I can achieve. In return, I've achieved goals I never thought possible and strive for even more to fulfill those dreams.

Often. I once lived in the Wash DC area & loved it. Moved but not because I wanted to (got married). I've often thought I would like to return but no longer have the courage to leave everything & everyone to do it. Maybe some things just aren't meant to be repeated. But I do wish I was more adventuresome & less reliant on security.

Yes, sometimes we create chains originally long and loose enough, with time the rusty chain chafes the skin and tangles beyond untanglement. Then it's time to call out the locksmith and blacksmith. And you then realized you're in your mid life.

Most of the chains were built by me, during my lifetime, I just didn't realize they were chains, I thought they were some kind of jewerly to be worn.
A few other's were just a gift I accepted when I started my "Social Life".
