Back up a bit. Since most of our lives are spent working, what kind of people do you enjoy? What is it they do and do you think it would satisfy you? Since the world revolves around relationships you can:

1. Choose something you are attracted to, and you will find people of a similar mindset.
2. Or, consider a career similar to that of the kind of people that you admire and do a bit of research/study. The money is necessary but secondary.

Then, once chosen, every now and then ask, "How can I do this better,
how can I improve on the existing work?" Money will follow. If you are not interested in growth, get a routine job that is at the end about the same as it was in the beginning with a steady income increasing by small increments over the years.

Hello job seeker
I am a Medical Laboratory Technician, I graduated from high school at the age of 17 and wasn't ready for college. My parents gave me the option of going to school, or getting a job OR GET OUT. Well I didn't plan on retiring from McDonald's and I love expensive things. At that time my cousin was attending a vocational school here in Detroit,Mi for Medical Assisting that was just her 1st step to becoming a registered nurse. She told me that it's only for 8 months and they will help you find a job a good job. After a lot of thinking I ended up at DBI taking Medical Assisting classes and passing them all it was easy. I met a lot of new friends, one students was pregnant at the time and named her daughter after me. I also got a ton of job connections. After graduation I landed a job at a doctor's office full time and making $22,000 a year, that was good for a 18 yr old. I finally went to college for 2 years and became a Laboratory Technician and make damn good money($30,000 a year). My sister is attending the same school for Message Therapy and my sister in law is going for Phlebotomy ( drawing blood) they make good money also (about $21,000- 25,000). So look into vocational schools do led to better things and some schools are cheap and grants and financial aide will pay for them, but don't get any LOANS.

I went for financial services, no schooling just getting licensed for insurance, mortgage and securities. Also a 6-7 figure income if you can transition out of an employee mentality and learn to become a business builder. The majority of wealthy people are not employees at a job but people that own a business or a business system that lets their efforts compound and duplicate. Also is very legitimate.

Anything to do with computer software and maintenance thereof.

There will always be those of us who can't or won't want to fathom the mysteries of our computers. And things are only going to get more complicated, as more technology comes into mainstream use. This career also lends itself well to freelancing, as well as providing a secondary source of income.

Another career path with a great future: Healthcare management. With a rapidly aging baby boom generation, healthcare management is becoming a very important issue. Pay may not be too-too terrific at first, but has great potential

First you need to figure out what you would enjoy doing. What are you good at now. There is no sense in studying for a trade that you'd ulitmately hate doing. No matter how well it pays.

Everything else being equal (and you don't get queazy from the sight of blood,) anything in the medical profssion would be good.
