Dump him. If you are with someone that much bigger, why stick with him if he was to be smaller at some point? Love is mutual. If you want to lose weight, great. But do it for you. If you stay with him and lose the weight, I'd be willing to bet you'd leave him after the weight was lost, because you'd have more confidence.

He could have just told you were fat and don't eat so much.
But instead he said he was going on a diet to encourage you.
