I just switched to Verizon from Sprint. My first bill was 120.00 which I thought was high, today I got a $532.75 bill. I am floored as I have a the American Choice Plan. I am aware of not using my phone too much. There seems to be many calls I am not familar with. Will they give you ONE chance to upgrade your minute plan. HELP this is way to high!

If there are calls you didn't make on your bill, you need to call them and tell them that. Are you sure you're looking at the outgoing phone numbers and not incoming? I have had Verizon Wireless for years and have never had that high of a bill....Nextel I did and it was all their fault in billing. You need to call Verizon and talk to them ... most likely they can work something out with you. My husband and I have the Family Shared American Choice Plan and only pay $120/mth for both of our phones!

Text messages (including Mobile IM), VCast, downloadable ringtones, Mobile Web usage. Outside of excessive voice calls, they would be the things I'd look for that could spike your bill.

Use Verizon Wireless online MyAccount feature. You can look at an itemized statement from your last billing period. It's pretty detailed.

I forgot the rules for changing plans, except that it resets your contract timer. That is, if you have a 2 yr contract, the timer resets to 0 once you change rate plans.

You can upgrade your minute plan anytime you want by just calling them.

if you are unfamilar with some of the numbers or don't even remember calling people with those numbers than I'd suggest calling Verizon and telling them about it. It could just be an error.

Also, watch out for those text messages (10 cents to send and recieve), those can really add up.
