I got great many answers for my query on my earlier questin as to whether I can do a course on animation being 60+. So this morning I had been to a scool nearest to my home and they promised to teach me from start to 3D. The fee is quite high. I dont mind that if I can get taught well. So what do I look for in the institute?

The best thing to look for is what the institute's previous alumni do now. If they have a large number of people placed in successful companies in various industries, or at least alot in the industry you are interested in, then that is probably the best place for you to be. This is a good indication of the quality of the instructors.

The other thing I would look for is how extensive are the facilities. If they have fantastic labs with render farms and powerful workstations and all the latest software, then you should definitely put a check next to that institution.

Quality of instructors and quality of facilities are the two most important factors.

My recommendation for an animation school is the Savannah College of Art and Design (http://www.scad.edu/). It is kind of expensive (I think about 20k/year for tuition) but it is definitely worth it. The instructors and the facilities are top-notch and tons of my friends and classmates went on to work for Pixar, ILM, and many more less publicly known but very talented shops.
