Sometimes. I was more of a mouthy child and usually got to bite the soap instead. But my evil ex-stepdad would spank. Looking back it was abuse. I can remember having to pick the switch(tiny branch) off the tree that you would get whipped with. It would leave welts.

Yep--Mom was a big believer in spanking. She had a wooden hairbrush (which as far as I know was never used for its intended purpose) and applied it to my (usually bare) fanny.
