there are a few ways to do this ,first open up your p.c and hook up the second drive as a slave drive and then basically use any file transfer software or even the windows "files and settings transfer wizard"which will move your files quick and easy
there are ide to usb connectors that you can buy now, basically you attach the ide connector to your hard drive source and then insert the other end into a spare usb port, then transfer your files over ,again using the windows transfer wizard or a 3rd party peice of software
in my opinion i would use the 1st method as this is the easiest and here is some free file transfer software you can try.......http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0-1-0.html?qt=back+up&author=&titlename=&desc=&dlcount=&daysback=&swlink=&gfiletype=&os=&li=49&dlsize=&ca=,there are a few good back up programs there but allways read the user reveiws before you install any software.i do and this avoids any chance of installing any rubbish
good luck and happy new year!

Too Little information.. what is the hard drive type. IDE or SATA
if IDE then
buddy.. U need at least one PC..

Usually PC is provided with two data cables..
u can connect both.
or
On one data cable there maybe two connectors but you have to make one hard as master and other as slave by the jumper setting on the hard drive..
Or if you have a IDE to USB converter then it is much easy to transfer data.

Easy. Just hook it up on an open IDE connector (or SATA connector if it's an SATA drive).

Basics to consider:

- of course make sure the PC is powered off and unplugged from AC power
- if it's an IDE drive, attach it to an open IDE connector
- when you have two devices on the same IDE cable, one should be set to "master" and the other "slave" regarding the jumper settings
- the master device should always be located on the end connector, while the slave uses the middle one

The hard drive will show as the next available drive letter not already in use when you boot up.
