I believe you are referring to "multiverses" (not multiniverse) in the new hyperphysics of Supersymmetry and Superstring Theory, also called M-Theory, a composite model of 5 plausible theoretical directions that are currently unresolved, for the quantum equations are still being computed, and there exists the problem of how Gravity properly figures into the calculative models without fudged mathematical adjustments. These theories basically postulate the existence of "multiverses" within a highly complex eleven-dimensional polyhedron model of parallel realities, or Transdimensions, perhaps even universes within universes beyond the subatomic level.

I definitely would recommend for you to read Dr. Michio Kaku's books, i.e. “Beyond Einstein", etc. Dr. Kaku is America's foremost theoretical physicists and co-founder of Superstring Theory.

like yourself i have a fascination about similar concepts. i read as many books an extracts i can find on the subject. i be lucky to understand a fraction of what i read. so this is my view at present (remembering these are all theories and can be updated, change or dump completely with the arrivial of new evidence) David Deutsch explaination works for me. our universe is only a tiny part of the multiverse but each part (other universes) are link at a subatomic level, in quantum mechanics it called quantum interferences. basically each atom in this universe has a counterpart in another universe and another etc. so that one atom is part of a large structure that is spread throughout all the other universes. any influence on the atom in this universe would effect its counterparts in other universes. if this transuniverse structure was not there we would not exist because electrons would crash into the nucleus of the atom they were orbiting and goodbye atom, the electrons need there counterparts in other universes to hold them in place. hence there the concept behind multiverse.again i emphasize these are only theories but it's all we have for now.

String Theory is probably a good place to start:

Terima Kasih . . .a Malasian way to say, "thank you very much."
Brane worlds are another theory, though I have druthers about it:
