Jesus is the son of God. The third person of the blessed trinity, who was sent as a sacrifice for our sin over 2000 years ago, that we might be saved through Him shedding his blood for us.
He was born of the Virgin Mary, He was crucified on a cross, he died and was buried. He rose from the dead on the third day and ascended into Heaven. From there, He sent down his Holy spirit upon his disciples (followers), to enlighten them, strengthen them in their faith, to go throughout the world preaching the gospel (the good news) and so it is to this day.
Death is not the end for those who believe in Jesus and repent of their sins and ask to be forgiven. It is only the beginning.

Jesus is just a name, but when people mention Jesus they are usually referring to the Jesus Christ of Biblical legend.

Apostle's Creed: (and in) Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits and the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
Nicene Creed: And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of His Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father,
by whom all things were made;
who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.
He suffered and was buried.
And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures
and ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of the Father.
And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead,
whose kingdom will have no end.
And the Athenasian creed is too long to write out here.

A simple question with a not so simple answer.
It depends on your personal beliefs. Jesus as described by the christen bible is the Son of God. He is referred to my other descriptions, such as, "The son of Man"
In other religions, Jesus was a prophet, and NOT the Son of God.
And in still others, Jesus is not even acknowledged at all.
"Who is Jesus?"
He is;
God in the flesh;
or
The son of God;
or
A holy prophet;
or
A myth.
As I said, It depends on what you belive.

An innocent man who God decided to torture, against his own will, to save the souls of those who don't want to go to hell. The Christians celebrate this bloodshed, which smelled very sweet to the bloodthirtsy Yahweh, who was not able to forgive the sins of filthy humanity.

Depends on the pronounciation.
Jesus is my friend's gardener when the J is pronounced with an "h" sound.
When the J is pronounced with a "j" sound then he is supposedly our "lord and savior" depending on what you believe in and crap.
