I can't choose just one. I prefer the 2nd and the 4th volumes.

Why? I can't exactly explain my reasons. All I know is that when I started reading Harry Potter, I only did it out of pure curiosity. Everyone was talking about this story and I was so annoyed because I felt as though the world was participating in an universal phenomenon and I was the only one who was left out. Note that I was only 11 at that time, so you can imagine that I wasn't exactly fond of reading. When my parents bought the first book, I was glad at first, but all I did was check the shiny cover, then put it on my desk. And that's where it remained until it was fully covered in dust. One day, when I reached a high level of boredom, I picked it up randomly and started reading the first chapter. And while I was reading the first lines, this little voice in the back of my mind kept telling me that I wasn't even going to finish this page. But as I kept reading further, I felt as if I was beginning to be more and more part of something I didn't understand, like I was entering a foreign world with new rules and new emotions. Okay, the truth is I stayed up until midnight and I couldn't put the book away.

When I started reading the 2nd one, Chamber of Secrets, I was already a bit established into the HP world and used with its rules, so it was like the continuation of discovery for me. You know that feeling you have after you taste a piece of cake and you realize it's incredible? But at first you know you can only have one bite. And then you realize you can eat it it all.

That's the same feeling I had when I started reading the 2nd book and that's why it is one of my favourites.

When I started on the 4th volume, I was already a huge fan. The 4th volume represented reaching an extreme for me because by the time I started reading it, I was already obsessed with everything that HP meant.

I guess that explains it.

Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely my #1 favorite, followed by the Sorceror's stone as close 2nd.

The reason being: there was actual plot, as well as much more character development regarding Harry and his past (his relationship w/ Lupin and eventually Sirius was helpful in showing how being an orphan shaped harry's personality). the time turner was a great story, sort of like "back to the future". there was action, adventure, mystery, and suspense. the whole time u think sirius is trying to kill harry, but in fact it's peter pettigrew as Ron's Rat! that was crazy awesome.. lol.. i can't believe Ron slept w/ that nasty thing!

the movie didn't do it justice...!

My favorite book was Goblet of Fire. It was not as dark as Chamber of Secres and Order of the Phoenix. Prisoner of Azkaban was just well there. Goblet of Fire had it all, romance, danger, and mystery.

Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban. I think that I've always thought it was the best one of them. Maybe, it's something in my unconscious since that was the book before people started to die (Prof. Quirrel is not included).

Erm...I like all of them! but if u want me to choose...it will be either order of pheonix or the half blood prince because Harry is getting a lot more cooler then in the previous books, and its no longer so childish...

I have two favorites actually....I REALLY CAN'T CHOOSE!! I like the HBP because it explains soooo much. You learn about Voldy's past and everything...and I LOVED Harry and Ginny getting together. It also makes you CRAVE the seventh book!! I like GoF because it is so suspensful and it has a lot of drama and action. It also sets up a LOT for the next two books. I love all the books and I HATE having to choose..LOL

Half Blood Prince. Why? Because half of the story his unfolded in this one. The past about Voldemort and his rise to power and how he's still alive, some Snape issues and of course, it's interesting to see Harry grow up. And then the ending...I don't want to spoil anything but it sure was interesting, who exactly is good and who is bad?! ^_^

I really like the third one, HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I really liked how everything kind of came together in the last quarter or so of the book.

Goblet of Fire. Order of the Phoenix was the worst.
