I just read in a hypnobirthing book that the baby will usually turn himself into the vertex position between 32 and 37 weeks as they respond to gravity. It says that you need to be fully and completely relaxed to let your uterus relax so your baby has room to turn. I'm 30 weeks and my baby is sideways as of two weeks ago. I'm trying to do some relaxation techniques to help her to turn. I really don't want to have the dr. manually turn the baby or have a c-section so I'm in the same boat! Good luck and take care!! I have to remind myself that a healthy baby and mom is what counts and how we get there doesn't matter. It's hard but I'm trying. :)

I just asked the same question at my last ultrasound. They said generally it happens around 25 weeks, but some babies can wait until 34 weeks or so. Usually if it goes any longer than that they will try manually turning him. I'm at 26 weeks and my little one is still breach..

I've had 3 kids and none of them turned. It's up to your body. If he suggested a 'version' REALLY look into it! (a version is where 2 doctors will try to externally turn your baby- by pushing/using great force on your belly)
I was scheduled to have one with my first because he wasn't turning, and thank God I had my son b4 it was scheduled! My son was born with a shorten cord and around his neck twice! My son would probably not be here if it was done.
Someone also told me that it's VERY painful and that they "wouldn't have wished that pain on their worse enemy"
Just give your baby time. So what if he/she doesn't turn. You're baby will be breech and you'll have a c-section. I had to have 3, and my kids are wonderful! (and had beautiful round heads when born - No cone heads! :o)

I'm 32 weeks and my baby has flipped. But according to this March of Dimes How your baby grows booklet...Your baby shouldn't turn until the 9th month.

Mine turned back and forth for the last month of my pregnancy. But, he ended up in the right position, anyway.

the baby may not turn until it is ready to come out...like 4 minutes... then again it may not turn at all an dyou may have to have a c section. your doctor will be able to discuss the options with you
