really both are pretty equal, go with the one that has the fastest cpu or most memory. You will save yourself many headaches if you delete the factory installed os and install it yourself from your own installation disk, using a quick restore disk or other similar media will only restore the system back to factory specs, with all of the junk that you dont need or want.
Good luck

Brand in computer nowadays matters very little, as most of the computer manufactures use the parts from the same factories in China anyways. Just because someone has bad luck with a computer does not make that computer a "bad brand." Computers just break, its a fact of life.

I have a Compaq, because it was the cheapest computer with the specs I wanted. Cheapest place to buy is a brick and morter store durring a sale. Check the ads in the newspaper.

If I were you I'd choose E-Machine

I've had E-Machine and Compaq computers before and E-Machine just seems more reliable

I disagree with the one who posted above..

A Computer, Is a COmputer.. They are all meant to serve a purpose..

to what Extent they are built,
yes emachines. are the cheapest pieces of junk..
but, Gateway, Who is thought to be decent, makes you pay more for this so called junk..

if i had the Joice, Id Scrap the Compaq idea.. And go for a dell..

They are so much cheaper, and most of time easier to fix, with the software they include with you...

(then again.. I build my own units.. and they run a thousand times better than any of them..)

But, if your looking for a Laptop.. Go with Toshiba.. Their Toughbook is remarkable.

you like one with extremely some memory-ram: some a million gb or memory is sweet Get a working laptop or laptop that doesn't come comprehensive of extremely some crap on it, demo application and stuff i might propose construction your very own laptop yet nonetheless you're a amateur. you could build a respectable laptop for $one thousand. With which you would be able to get a extreme-end cpu, with a especially good video card, to no longer point out stuff retailers do no longer supply extremely some laptop now are especially respectable. I say merely get a dell. maximum places of artwork have dells. they are, i think good
