Motion sensor, Picture Channel which allows you to play with your Pictures from your SD memory card (most digital cameras have those now) and view slideshows of your pictures, the Forecast Channel which allows you to view your local weather and weather around the world (although it is not updated often in my experience), the Mii Channel in which you can create your own characters to play in Wii Sports (and other games?), Shopping Channel where you can download old-school games and the Opera Internet Browser, Messages where you see your play history for each day, and you can send and receive messages to and from other Wiis, and of course the awesome games. The News channel will be available in January I think. In some games, you can insert an SD card with music on it and choose to listen to your music instead of the game's music, which is pretty cool. Also, the controllers are wireless and the Wii can play Gamecube games (but with Gamecube controllers). No memory cartridges are needed, as game history is stored right on the Wii, and you can transfer your Mii to your Remote and bring that to a friend's house to play with it. The Wii can receive updates, and is small and portable enough to bring wherever you go. And you can't forget how cheap it is compared to other systems. We got the Wii, extra controllers and five games (plus the Wii Sports that comes with the system) for under $600.
