Okay....I'm a music lover and musician of 14 years. I play guitar, sing and can do harmonies. I've been trying to write music for EVER now and have only accomplished ONE song successfully(and I only kinda like it). If you can convey to me...... how do you do it? I mean GOD!!! I feel like I'm missing some super valuable information here!!!

Here's the funny thing: I've never met any great artist of any sort that is ever completely satisfied with their works. It's great that you are already starting to write songs with harmonies and other components.

I know it gets aggravating at times, but just go with it. If you don't completely like the way that something looks, ask someone that you know won't just tell you it's great anyway (that means parents) before you change it. Usually best friends are good at this.

music is a feeling, I find that I write the best stuff late at night, 2-3 am. it just pops in there and wont go away until I jot ot down. You just need to find your inspiration, once you find it you will know- it will light you up like a beacon and you will write your best music ever. Just be open to everything, keep your eyes wide open, and you will find exactly what you are looking for.

Good Luck to you,

What I do is, come up with music, than try and hear a vocal pattern over the music, than just think up a subject and run with it.
