I am about litte under six feet when I wear boots or my slipper my head some times hit the heating pipes. I have bearly enough space to move the pipes up without compromising the return drain from the radiators. I would like to close of the basement ceiling. please help .

You can move the pipes any place you want! You can run the return pipe above the radiators, if you want or have to (its a closed system)

I did this but I had to use a "hang down" ceiling with tiles. It was the best I could do. It all came out good but I do have to watch in a few spots and I can't jump rope anymore down there.

unless you plan to dig out your floor your limited to raisinig the pipes you will also have to reroute the return. i would not do this yourself though. you can also wrap your pipes.
