first of all, picture yourself in school again. you have a substitute teacher and they are calling out the role. what do they do when they come to your name? it gets very annoying to correct their mistakes. second, think of all possible things that rhyme with dervla. pervla, mervla, cervla, servla, bervla, does that sound pleasant to you? i'm sorry but take it from someone with a weird name, don't name your child dervla. if you want to look up some irish names try this website: http://www.ireland-information.com/heraldichall/irishgirlsnames.htm

Dervla is...um...interesting. It might be tough to grow up with a name like that. How about Kelly? It's Irish and I really like it, but you might want something more unique.

I love the name Kathleen and Maggie (both Irish) You should also look up Gaelic names. I went to Ireland for my honeymoon and met a little girl there named "Sanchee" pronounced (San-she)

Eh... I don't really like the sound of it... If you're looking for a less mainstream Irish name, one of my best friends is named Ailish (ay-lish...), and it's pretty much amazing.
