The word is 'Joint Family'. In the olden days all the sons with their wiives and the parents would live together in the same house. The advantages were that household chores were divided among all members and hence there was not much of physical strain. In times of sickness there was somebody to run the house and do the chores as well as someone to look after the sick person. There was a support structure/system available for everyone.
In a nucleus family (A common phemomena these days) it is just the parents and the young kids. There is no support system during an emergency. Household chores become a drag.

Nuclear families have their ups and downs... everyone's related (well siblings) so not as much competition... like vying for parent's or your step parent's love etc. competition w. step-siblings.

A blended family has pre-made problems, takes more work. Lots of questions of love and loyalty. Takes work to make it work.

joint families r better than nuclear families
nuclear family children dont get the love of their grand parent whereas joint families do.
in joint family if their is an unemployed person he atleast gets the basic needs such as food clothing n shelter whereas in nuclear its not ther same way
i think thers a need for joint families bcoz nuclear families r not as strong as joint

it's not 'joined' but 'joint family'. a joint family is one in which your family, ur uncles and aunts, and their families, ur grand parents etc. live under one roof. on the other hand a 'nuclear family' is one comprising of ur parents and siblings only.
