I know a store that sells cigarettes to minors in the state of New Jersey where the law now says that you must be nineteen to buy those type of products. The person in charge never asks for an ID, and I think that, that is very iresponsible, and something should be done. I don't want people that I know to get in trouble, or fined because of some store clerk not following the law. So how can I report this?

It is irresponsible and it needs to be addressed. Talk to the store's owner, or better yet write them a letter. This way the employees will not face criminal charges and the owner will not loose his license. When contacting the owner, explain your concerns and ask that the problems be fixed.

If the problem continues, contact the Department of Alcohol and Tobacco (or whatever state agency handles the licenses for the sale of alcohol and tobacco products. It might be harsher than you want to be, but sometimes you have to be hard nosed to get people to obey the laws.

Depends on where you live.

Local Police are always an option. Also, most US states regulate tobacco sales via the Department of Taxation. A call there may yield answers for you should you wish to file an anonymous complaint

Well seems your options are to stay quiet, or say something. If you say something it's the clerk who is going to be getting into trouble.

I believe you can call the local police (non emergency number) and explain what you know, that you wish to remain anonymous and ask that something be done.

Call the local police (non-emergency number) and ask to speak with somebody in the alcohol and drug enforcement department and tell them about that particular station and clerk, maybe they will send in an underage decoy and get the clerk busted.

Go to your nearest police station and talk to one of the officers and possibly make a report. They will look in to it. Possibly send undercover agents there.

Go and call the police or sheriff and tell them that you don't want to be known.

There should be more people like you in the world. Good job!!

I would say to just drop a hint to your local DA and they should be able to redirect that info to where it needs to go or at least be able to point you in the way.
