My friend (who's aunt taught her, and she's a "professional") did it once. I don't believe in tarot cards, but it was interesting. It told me exactly what I wanted to hear, and was extremely relevant. But they are what you make of them.

A good reader can tell you whats true, but the truth isn't always what we want to here.
Of course, it's not always what they want to tell you, either.
They often want to tell you nice stuff, to keep you coming back, even if they do know otherwise, and that can be pretty misleading.
Or, tell you negative stuff, and then tell you they can fix it for more money.
It's much better to trust yourself. And getting you're own deck and getting to know it can be fun, too. For some, that brings out their inner guidance.
Still, it is really fun to have them read for you, if ya don't take it too seriously. And it can be fun to go over it for along time, too, alone or with other's.
It still is best to trust in you're own instincts. Using the cards for yourself might help you do that. Or with someone you know.
A friend wouldn't have a much reason to change what they say. More honest.
