mope, this is quoted directly from the itunes replacement agreement....
When you buy a song or album from the iTunes Store, you are entitled to download it only once.
When you buy a song, video, game, or album from the iTunes Store, you are entitled to download it a single time. If you want to download it again, you must purchase it again. You can copy downloaded content between authorized computers.
Sorry.... You should always back up important files....

I would suggest, that you start making backups of your music and other important data.
Ok, how did you lose the music? if your hard drive had problems, it still maybe recoverable. What happened?

I do not have any experience doing that, but I read that they will replace your tunes, just one time. It's not going to hurt to call them>>
