OK, so I have sex with my boyfriend pretty regularly, and occasionally we have anal sex. He wants it more often, but I'm afraid that having it too often might hurt me physically. We currently do it the backdoor way about twice a month or so, but he'd probably want it more like twice a week. Is it physically ok to have anal that often?

I don't mind having it more often, as long as it's safe for me physically.

To Sab:
I don't know if it becomes less painful or the pain becomes more tolerable, but it definitely gets better after you've "grinned and beared it" for the first few times.

I'm not going to knock you for trying something new, or being experimental, but girl us women are already going through enough issues with our bodies. Now I am in the medical field and have seen a lot of things with a lot of young people men and women coming in because the want to experiment. The butt is for exiting only, but at the same time it does feel good. Tell ya boyfriend that he needs to ease up when he gets excitted, also try using lubricants, and please use condoms, not only it's for safe sex , but it won't be that painful. #2 once a month is all i allow my husband to do and he uses a condom yes we are married, but we still stay up on P's & Q's.

I believe anal is just as safe for you as vaginal intercourse. You have to worry about bacteria however, so it is still a good idea to wear a condom.
Anal can hurt you physically only if you don't do it RIGHT, but the same thing goes for vaginal intercourse. Of course if you have rough sex and bleeding occurs it's bad for you. But that can happen either way.

Not a good idea.Years ago a young man became very sick and had very serious stomach pains. We had to call the paramedics for him. All he could say that it was from his sex life. He was right. He was having anal sex with other men. He could not have a BM and his system became impacted. He had some serious medical problems.

sorry, i am male
the main problem that you could run into, is weakening of the internal and external anal sphincter muscles. having anal sex is ok if you do not mind, but if those sphincter muscles should weaken, then you may soil your undergarments with stool. those muscles should stay tight...well then you say that they have to open for me to have a BM, yes that is true, but they are only open for a short period and not 15-20 minutes with a penis thrusting in and out
if you continue to have anal sex, make sure he uses plenty of lubrication (no vaseline if he wears a condom because it will disintegrate) but use plenty of KY. Have vaginal sex first so you do not transfer the rectal bacterial flora to the vagina lest you get a vaginal infection. he needs to wash well after sex because of the rectal bacteria.
hemorrhoids may also be a new problem if you indulge very frequently as well
good luck

No, it is NOT safe. OBGYNs say not to do it at all. The anus was not meant for that. Unless he's a toothpick guy, that can really damage the nerve endings. In extreem cases (usually gay men) all bowel control is lost because you can no longer squeeze the muscles to "hold it in" so you have to wear what's called a anal plug. Once every other month is the most I would suggest.

I have a question for you - I have had anal once & it hurt like something awful. If you have it more frequently does it become less painful?

I personally don't think any anal sex is physically good for you. That area was not meant for his manhood. Besides, it hurts and feels like you are taking a bowel movement.

the more often you do it the better it will get. Its perfectly safe for you. Its just as safe as vaginal intercourse. But when doing anal.... make sure to use plenty of lube... and wash up before .going vaginal
