First off I am sort of a hypochondriac. The last time I could have possibly become pregnant is in the beginning of Aug but I have been having periods ever since. They've been slightly different than usual, but I am still wondering could I be pregnant? The only reason I am worrying is because I have gained about 7-8 lbs since then. I know this is a dumb question, but your answers could put my mind at ease.

menstruation is the cleaning and shedding of the uterus, therefore, when you are pregnant, you don't shed the lining since that would mean death to a fetus. Bleeding during pregnancy spells trouble. If you've had periods, then you're not pregnant...but because you are careless, expect to be and live life as a poor girl alone because the guy will dump you like a hot potato!

If you're periods aren't normal and you are gaining weight you should have a test done to be sure..It is possible to still have periods and be pregnant..better to go ahead and test so that you can get the care you need if you are pregnant. good luck

My mom (she's a nurse) says that when you have periods, you are trying to grow a baby in your stomach so you can give birth, but there isn't what their needs to be, and then you have a period, because you are shedding dead skin from trying to have a baby. Therefore, you have a period. My sister and mom get them all the time.

I just found out that a good friend of mine is 6 weeks pregnant. She had no idea because she's been having regular periods. She went for her annual gyn visit and found out at that point.

Take a pregnancy test. If it turns up negative and you want to be sure, the doctor can order a blood test for you
