Its called trust, why is he so insecure? If you wanted to cheat, you don't have to wait until you're a trucker! Tell him to growup and get real.

I think it is great that you aren't doing this just to be away from home to be able to cheat. Many truckers are local and home every night. Interstate and long haul trucking might be the farthest thing from your intent. He can learn to drive a big rig and the two of you could drive as a team if long haul is your desire. I don't think he is being fair and is not secure enough to allow you the freedom. Maybe he needs to talk to a few truckers wives and find out most men that drive long haul don't cheat either. You can also reverse this on him and point out that he could cheat while you are gone but you trust him, why does he have trust issues with you ?

I have a friend who became a truck driver a little over a year ago. For three weeks he is on the road then he has two days off and then back on. He can only drive, by law, so many hours per week. This requires him to sit at truck stops for 24 to 36 hours at a time. All of this and he makes as much as your average blue collar worker. Once you have seen a few truck stops they all start looking alike to you. It may seem glamorous to travel all over the country but all you really see are a gray stretch of interstate through a windshield and green road signs. You wont find truck stops within walking distance of most tourist attractions and many companies want you to be with your truck. Trust me, its not worth it to become a trucker.

Basically if he doesn't trust you then he is not worth having. Who says that it is necessary to be a truck driver to cheat. Being a cheat is either in your personality or it is not and your occupation will not change that. I have known several women who were truck drivers and enjoyed the occupation. It would certainly not suit me, but if it is your wish then go for it and don't worry about what your guy thinks as if he thinks you are going to cheat then he isn't worth having.

I think he's just being weird. I mean come on, it's just a job LMAO I know a few women who were truck drivers. One of them ended up becoming a NUN, for crying out loud! XD wanting to be a truck driver doesn't mean you're out to cheat. But if he doesn't trust you, there's not much you can do. You could ask him why he thinks you're out to cheat, that might reveal something

It's a little unconventional and there are some people (not just guys) that might have a problem with a career change into an unconventional vocation.
I'd say you gotta try it. If he can't deal with it, then move on. Love is about helping each other follow your dreams. If you don't have any kids, now is especially a good time.

Well, I don't KNOW but if you showed him the level of competition he'll have to contend with.... The stereotype of the fat disgusting trucker's not always true, but it's definately NOT a field that most think of when they're lookin for guys.
Or offer to bring him along.

Sounds like your guy is a little on the insecure side.
Sit down and talk to him. Explain that wanting to
drive a rig (truck) has nothing to do with wanting
to see or be with other people.
If he can't accept that, then you might want to say
"So long good buddy" to your guy and pursue your
dreams on the open road.
No one should have to endure a relationship with
a guy or girl that doesn't trust you.

Tell him that this is something that you have always wanted to do. I am just like you, I would love to be a lady truck driver. Tell him that if he dont beleive you then for him to go with you and just see that you are not cheating. I hope that you have good luck with this and please be really careful.

Its your decision. What do you want?
Depending on how much you want this, and how serious you are in persueing this... its up to you. This isn't something that's going to be handed to you. Be courageous, and make it happen.
Without pulling out my book of Aesop's Fables.... You can do anything you want.
There are certain things you must do in order to achieve this dream. A truck driver must have certain things like a CDL license, and driving experience. Are you there yet? Or still dreaming? Find out what you need to do to get and go after it.
Oh, yeah... your boyfriend. ...He can help you.
Or else, ...he's in your way.
Now say to yourself "I can do it" ...Now say it outloud.
