Oh, yeah. At least quite a bit of it. The problem with QaF was that it told alot of peoples stories from just a few people's perspectives. In other words, most of these people would not have done ALL THOSE THINGS. They would have done some, but not all that they did. However, to keep the storylines interesting you must have DRAMA. : ) So, no, this was a Soap-Opera first, and real-life second. I could recognize alot of my friends in most of the stories, that's why I feel they were real, even if they didn't do them, I could see one of them doing something LIKE that, lol.

I think it represents an aspect of the gay community BUT not everyone in that group. It takes place in a rather big city w/ a large gay community (and plenty of bars/clubs). I think it would be boring to have a show about a small town gay community (where one seldom even exists). It is probably sensationalised a bit for dramatic affect (w/ all the drama and sex added for interest); but it's entertaining.

No.

Does "Sex and the City" represent the heterosexual community?

It is good as entertainment ( at least the first season ), not as something meaningful.

Consider it as gay soft core porn for straight women.

And it would be good to consider the answers coming from real gay people, not people who imagine the gay community to be so and so.

It does not. It's a sylized, over-dramatic depiction of good-looking actors in female-oriented storylines (a bit like yaoi in anime fandom.) That makes for a good show, but like a lot of good shows, does not neccessarily reflect its subject accurately.

No not really. It just tells story's about life in general. Whether they respresent that gay community one can only speculate.

I love the show too and am very disappointed it's been canceled. It covered some very important and controversial issues regarding the GLBT community. I still enjoy the reruns.

No. It is a conglomeration of stereotypes, drama, and gratuitous sex scenes mashed up into an amalgam of nonsense, hysteria, and absolute drivel. It's a complete waste of time.

Totally not, I don't identify with it at all because they all seem to have loads of money and I don't. They are just yuppies to me with no sense of community or social justice. Boreing as hell.
