The witching hour is typically thought to occur at midnight, though the witching hour, according to neopaganism, occurs only at midnight AND during a full moon. In Gypsy beliefs the "Witching Hour" is actually at 1 o'clock as opposed to midnight because it is the "Thirteenth Hour".

That "Emily Rose" writing staff was taking some creative liberties with the traditional folklore.

Traditionally the "Witching hour" is between midnight and 2 am. True Witches do not use a set time or hour for spell craft. they do use the hour for ritual. This common quote of Neopagan is beginning to create some extreme assumptions. True Witches are by no means Pagan. That name belongs to Catholicism. The word Neopagan sounds exactly like Intellect wannabe.
3 am Ritual workings do exist and are practiced when that time matches certain celestial alignments or magnetic fields on the earth are optimum for whatever purpose.
I hope this helps in your understanding.

The witching hour is at midnight. That is a pagan thing. The catholics believe that at three pm is a good time a strong spiritual time, and that three a.m. is a week time a time when, under the right circumstances, Demons can get through.

the so called Witching Hour, is some Christian supersticion, and a lot of hollywood BS.

this started because when the moon is full, many believe that at 12:00 midnight is when it is actually at it's fullest. this is not true.

the true full moon can happen at any time of the day or night.

Midnight is the witching hour. I heard that most people die at 3 am (so maybe that is how it got the reputation of being a "supernatural" time of night).

No such thing. Only exists in movies, and I hope you don't believe everything you see in movies. It is only acting and make believe. To me, 3 a.m. is the time my husband usually gets home from a hard nights work. That's real life.
