Find a cheaper place to live, stop eating out, skimp to the bare neccessities when it comes to beauty products, junk food, internet, cable tv, smoking, drinking, etc. Lower your grocery bills as much as possible through smart shopping with coupons, sales, etc. Eat healthy fresh fruits & veggies that are in season (much healthier for your body, and cheaper and more filling than potatoe chips).
Don't go shopping for extras. If you see something you want, but do not need, then don't buy it.
Watch your utility bills- lower the heat a few degrees in the winter and throw on a sweater & socks. Raise the AC several degrees in the summer, and take a cool shower to cool off. Turn the hot water heater down a few degrees- who actually uses hot water without cooling it down, anyway? Swap non-essential lamps to lower wattage bulbs. Reading lamps, and the main lamps or lights in each room should remain stronger. Turn lights off when not in the room. Turn the TV off if you are not watching it. Fill your freezer with ice- it takes less energy to keep a filled freezer chilled than a mostly empty one.
Lots of little things can add up quickly. You need to be disciplined enough to sock each penny away, no matter how small the amount. It adds up fast.
As for making money on the side, have you considered doing any online work at night when you are home? I do a LOT of legit, actually paid for things online. I didn't start until September of this year, but so far, in cash & gift cards, I've made over $600. Granted, the gift cards are not always ones I can use, but they are sellable on eBay for almost the full amount. Most places I use, I can pick my own gift card reward, though- places like Target, Barnes & Noble, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc. If you get ones to Wal-Mart or Target, you can use them to buy your neccessities- toilet paper, garbage bags, etc.
http://mylifeathome.livejournal.com is my blog, which lists the places I use, and which ones have actually paid me, as in, money in my pocket that I received. Now, $600 might not seem like much, but that's $150 a month, so that alone could save you $1800. Most of the places I use don't put a cap on what you can earn per month, though, either. You could earn a lot more than what I do, if you are able to put in some time.
None of them are scams, but they do require some work- writing reviews, writing articles, playing a game on one, answering survey's, etc. Some are much better at earning if you can get a few referrals under you, since you earn a percentage of what they earn (not out of their pocket, though, it's a bonus on top of what the referral earns).

Lose the cable/lower the heat/get a cheaper phone service..../lose the internet......get a second job and auto deposit it a separate account......however, that's all assuming you have no debt like credit cards/car pymts/etc./raise the deductible on your car insurance.
rent a room in somebody's house....you'd be an ideal tenant cuz you'd be working all the time.....work hard and by next Christmas you'll be free and clear to pursue your acting career.
A hotel job of any sort would be good because they feed you, provide the uniform.....and you can work off hours....and get some exercise cuz you'd be on your feet all day.
