I just recently purchased a Gateway computer and it came with a RealTek soundcard installed. It was fine for about a week or two, but now when I play music, the sound will be fine for like 2 minutes, then it will get all scratchy. When I'm playing games, it just instantly gets scratchy and I lose all stereo surround sound. I need some help in figuring this out. Its not the drivers.

It sounds like you have a bad connection from the sound card to the speakers. Try replacing the cable to the speakers.... Or the speakers cant handle the base/trebble settings of the sound card....
