it would be OK to feed your baby fruit now. thy say just don't feed them baby meats like chicken and gravy until they are 6 months old. fruit is one of the most food easy for the baby to digest, my son started out on fruit and the doctor started my niece on apple sauce when she was 3 months old because it helps them full fill there appetites better. trust me i promise it would be fine

I think that it is important to go with what your pediatrician says.
Normally they ask to breast-feed only (or use baby milk) until 6 months old.
Then introduce one element a week, so that in case of an allergy you can know which aliment has provoked it.
Cereals first, then veggies and fruits at the end.
When you start with fruits, banana is a good bet, and probably apple afterwards. There are some fruits like orange and strawberries that are better not to give until your baby is one year old.

It is generally recommended that once your child is able to eat vegetables and cereal well, and has developed a taste for them, then you start fruits. The reason you wait is, according to the pediatrician we had with our daughter when she was that size, because they are more likely to continue eating vegetables later if you save the sweet fruits for afterward, so they don't develop what essentially is a sweet-tooth. I hope this helps!

fruit and solids in general are fine after six months. its good to start fruit once they are into their vegies. obviously make sure it is mashed or pureed up so there are no choking hazards. one fruit not to give until one year is strawberries as they can have serious allergic reactions. other fruits are all fine. banana is especially good, very easy but it can cause constipation so maybe go slowly with that.

If he's handling those well then starting fruits is okay. Generally they say to wait until 6 onths to start any solids, but since you started already, as long as he's been tolerating baby food well it should be okay.

when at the pre-natal clinic a midwife said that before six months is a nono which can lead to problems later in life to do with gastro. apparently all solids are recomended after six since doctors have dicovered through research.
