well our last topic was about how spain conquered the philippines so it was about 15th century to 18th century.

This is not much information to go on. The "native" part could
mean at the beginning of catholicism.....The Apostle Paul
was taken in chains to Rome where he died at Roman hands
by being behedded. This was the beginning of the Christian
church at Rome which became the Catholic church (with many
additions and rules.)

Or is could mean "native" meaning the indigenous native
indians which lived here in Cal. and elsewhere that the
Franciscan monks tried to teach and baptize and bring into
the catholic church. The other half of that story is that the
Indians did all the work and in effect, became the servants
of the monks. Many did receive a genuine christian change
in their lives...but for the most part, it was forced upon them.

Can you please revise the question. I can find things on Native Catholics but not the phrase. Can you put it in the context. Is it a test question? If so, for what class? Can you provide years that this phrase was relevant. I cannot find a good response with the question as is. Thanks.
