Can I get a living allowance from the department of veteran's affairs?

I am a veteran living in Wisconsin. A friend of mine mentioned that one of his cousins(a veteran), was getting some kind of housing allowance in addition to drawing his Montgomery GI bill money for school.

Yes, your friend is right. The $ has gone up this past year also. I am not for sure but I remember it being around $500 a month while in school. Check out the VA website below.

I don't know but I would think if you are broke the state would be the place to go.
