Absolutely!!! This team has yet to reach its potential. Their young pitching staff hasn't even learned how to pitch in the big leagues yet and is poised to dominate the American League for the next 4 to 5 years. Manager Jim Leyland will keep them focused and work on any weaknesses in spring training. GO TIGERS !!!

I'm a major Detroit Tigers fan, so u can just say i'm saying this bcuz I am a fan...I DO think they will make it to the playoffs...Anything can happen in a series....Idk if they'll make it to the ws next year, but I do think they will make it to the playoffs.
Detroit was off for too long before the world eries last year, and they choked..There pitching is awesome, if they keep it up, they will win it. I do agree with Ozgard though, the Tigers are in a great division with the twins, and others. Pitching does win games, and the Tigers have it. Go Tigers! :)

They certainly have the pitching. With the addition of Sheffield we have a more powerful line-up.

But will they go back to the World Series?
I hope so, but the chances are slim.

The Yankees will be looking to get even with The Tigers, and that's not good (for Tiger fans).

How many teams thought they would win the world series (or at least go back) the year after they won? and didn't?

I am not expecting it to happen, but IF it does I'd be happy.

They have the pitching to do so but they live in a very good division. The White Sox and Twins will be a force as well as the Tigers. With the addition of Sheffield they could make a run. Pitching wins championships and they have the arms.

No, everyone found out the Tigers weakness and are going to exploit it like crazy next year.

Just hit the ball to the pitcher.

Go Cardinals! Seriously, good luck with the upcoming season..can't wait!

If they play like they did last year, i say yes. They were tough last year, but Leyland needs to keep them on their toes. The Tigers almost blew it. ..

Why are people saying "they don't have a chance". That's rediculous. They have extremely good young pitching with a decent batting side to back it up. I think they have a resonably good chance.

Yes I do. They have the young hungry talent necessary to propel them into another World Series. But, I hope that my team makes it instead.
