You could try Contemporary Abstract Algebra by Joseph A. Gallian. This book (obviously a math book) describes the permutations/moves of the rubicks cube. There are different computer programs that you can use to solve the cube, like gap. (Solving the cube is very much a logic problem or mathematics problem).

My method for solving the cube: trial and error, solve for each side in turn and hope that you solve the cube.

This is the book I bought and used way back in the early 80s to solve it:

The Simple Solution to Rubik's Cube by James G. Nourse. It really works!
