I am considering a move to Anchorage but we will be completely on our own since we have no family there or do not know anyone. I was wondering if it is pretty safe to make this kind of move and if there is a particular part of Anchorage that is better than the rest of Anchorage?

Yeah, it's pretty safe but how do your teenage girls feel about moving all the way up there. My mother moved my sister and me up there for a summer and it was safe and the people were nice but we were teenagers and we wanted to stay where we were.

You mean Anchorage Alaska? Where Men are Men and Sheep are nervous?

Joking,, Anchorage is a great place. It just sucks in the winter when there is no Sun for months on end. You have to like the outdoors or you won't be happy there. You will also have to put up with the earthquakes that happen fairly often.

Call a realestate office that rents, and talk to them about the different areas in town.

One more thing, keep in mind you will be farther away from the lower 48 then two foreign countries are.
