Often the dream is similar on different occasions - i.e., contains recurring elements, but in some ways is different in each occasion that you dream it. Dreaming the exact same dream in every detail, would be a bit more unusual.
I had someone who used to treat me poorly, and after they did so, I would invariably dream of wild animals. However depending on how poorly they treated me would affect what kinds of animals were in the dream and whether they were in cages - or free, and pursuing me.
In another situation, I used to dream of losing a relative on trains whenever it had been too long a time since I had seen them. However, even though the person and the train was there, the other surrounding details would change.
Lastly, I used to often dream of a house with newly discovered rooms and floors - at a time when my own personal potential was still largely hidden. I had this dream often (variations of it, that is) and it always felt like it was a message about undiscovered and untapped aspects of the self. I no longer have that dream - and I am much more realized in who I am in terms of achievement and goals - personal and professional.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share with your question.

Obvioously yes . Since u yrself say that u have this dream atleast once a week.
Maybe the events have had so much impact on yr mind/brain OR u keep thinking of the dream so often , that it re-occurrs again & again.
Let go of the thoughts in the dream i.e. rid yr brain of those thoughts and the dream will stop.
Fill yr mind with pleasant thoughts instead.

A recurring dream is a dream that someone repeatedly claims to have over an extended period.
A person who experiences post-traumatic stress disorder may have recurring dreams about the traumatic event.
The subjects of recurring dreams vary, and they often include events or settings from the dreamers' own experiences. The following examples are common:
The sensation of falling
Being held down or otherwise unable to move (compare sleep paralysis)
Nakedness in a public place
Being held back in school or failing a test
Losing teeth or the ability to speak
Like any dream, recurring dreams have invited many interpretations.

I bet just about everyone will say Yes -- weird thing if you realize that the dream you're dreaming is the same dream that you've had before you can take control of the dream and change it any way you want -- Lucid dreaming

Definitely possible, I've had a number of dreams over the course of my life that I've dreamed more than once. Never as often as once a week, more like every few months, but that's just me. No reason that it couldn't be more frequent for you.

Recurring dreams are quite common and are often triggered by a certain life situation or problem that keeps coming back again and again. It usually points to a personal weakness, fear or your inability to cope with something in your life past- or present.

Yes, I've had reoccurring dreams before, sometimes they were the same dream over and over again, sometimes I would have dreams that would be "interrupted" by my waking up, and they would PICK UP where I left off the next night! THAT was weird!

I have the same one over and over--it varies a bit, but it is the same dream....I am in an old house and every time I open a door there is a room and that room has a door and there is another room and so on and so on. I am not afraid, but rather fascinated finding one room after another.
