My daughter asked about things that citizen's of the United States would do. She asked if in different times would business close during the mouring. She asked since all flags were ordered at half staff for 30 days. Do we light candles or anything that is tradition? Official things only or a website direction might work. She will be discussing this in her history and government class as well as watching coverage of the Ford State Funeral Friday.

Contact The White House and enquire as to what is the correct etiquette for the observance of a "Presidential Passing". It has to be on record somewhere. There are procedures and formal customs, so why wouldn't there be a similar code of conduct for the common citizen to follow.
I have no doubt that at least one television station will know the drill.
