Tricks are tricks whether is be for kids or adults. Presentation (or the approach) is what matters. This guy does stuff for kids, but with a little imagination you can spruce it up for whatever age level. http://hobbies.expertvillage.com/interviews/magic-tricks.htm Good Luck

Real magicians are not allowed to give out how tricks are done, but this is an example of mentalism. Mentalism is a branch of magic that does tricks that pretend to read or influence your mind, or that pretend to use the mind to move things, etc. The trick you describe can be done in a hundred diferent ways- the less elegant ways include the idea that the 'volunteer' is a stooge, or that someone in the audience is a stooge and is signalling the info. Big name psychics and faith healers actually have people on radios talking to a hidden earpeice, passing info back and forth- but this is probably not what is happening here. OK, for the house-hold level trick, we can still do it a hundred ways: 1. The old take a number, add this to it, divide by this bit. There are several variations of this bit, and if the magi finds out one o fthe numbers, they can figure out the starter number. 2. Different ways to read the slip of paper- from adding it to a pile of other pieces and still locating it, to ways to rip it up and glimpse the answer desired, to using a gimmick in the pad that is basically a carbon copy. 3. They even make trick pens that can signal what they have written! 4. Pre-knowledge is powerful. There are a lot of ways to find things out, then pretend to reveal it later. 5. Smart guessing is even cooler. This is what a lot of the TV psychics do- make guesses that sound far-fetched, but are statistically likely in a group. The more knowledgeable the magi is, the better this works. There is an interesting phenomena amongst the audience that forgives misses and remembers hits as being brilliant. Good mentalism is a lot of fun- and a lot harder to make work than it might seem. If your memory is hazy on it, you will probably never find the answer you want- a good magi had you looking in the wrong place when the important things happened, so it is really unlikely you remember any detail that would be really helpful.

This is a really easy one.Take a deck of 52 playing cards. Flip the bottom card over so that the deck looks like it is face down on the both the top and bottom. Now with the 51 cards facing down fan the deck and ask for someone to pick a card. When they pick the card ask them to show it to everyone present. While they are showing everyone the card flip the deck over so the one card you flipped is now on top. After this ask them to put their card back in the deck. Then flip the deck again, but don't get caught. When the deck is flipped back over fan the cards out and the card they picked will now be the only card face up(minus the bottom card the you don't show)

this is kinda cool.....take a deck of cards and put each suit in oreder...then stack each suit on top of one another, the cut the deck 14 times......it does'nt matter the size you cut.....then after 14 cuts.....when you flip them back over....they are still in order!!! Hope it helps!!!
