I just got a new hamster today, and all he has been doing is spinning around on the wheel. I bought my new hamster one of those 3 level cages, not those plastic ones because they look too small for them so I was hoping he would be okay in this big cage, but my hamster isn't eating or drinking at all! Just spinning non stop and I'm worried it may be stressed out or something.
I have one of those water bottles with the metal tube and the ball but he hasn't been drinking from it and maybe he doesn't know how to use it? Should I use a regular bowl? As for food, he hasn't ate much. I put in some carrots and he nibbled on that or a bit, but he seems addicted to the wheel more than anything. Is there something wrong or am I worrying too much?

Also, do you think he is okay near a light? It's one of those touch lamps, so I set it to the lowest brightness, so do you think that's okay?

Hamster eats and drinks very little and you might not see it. He is active which is a good thing. Before I had a hamster, he ran wheel on the time and I put a cushion to stop the noise at night. He died in few days. Let him be! He will be fine. That is the way hamster is. He loves to play!

i think your hamster is still trying to get used with the new surrounding. If he is still not eating or drinking after 1 or 2 days, bring him to see a vet. And, i don't think hamster like light that much as hamster are rodents. So, i think it's better don't put a light beside him at night.

Don't worry, the hamster probably just loves his wheel. If he wasn't doing anything but sleeping all day and not eating, then that's when you'd need to worry. In reference to the water bottle, he'll learn very quickly how to use it. They all do. It's common to worry. But as long as he is active and keeps on spinning, then he'll be fine.

loads of human beings wade via this difficulty basically awaken in the path of the night whilst she is maximum energetic and notice if she eats or beverages. positioned bowl on suitable of bedding in the bowl. If in the puppy shop she inebriated from a bowl attempt to instruct her water comes out and positioned it close to her mouth. Slice some apples or strawberries and supply it to her yet no longer very lots. properly she isn't very soft yet so shes no longer frightened approximately eating in any respect or eating yet she will have the skill to. basically examine her each and every hour for the time of the day and as quickly as in the path of the night till you spot her consume and or drink. sturdy success

Put some sugar in his water and for his food, try many things, meat carrots lettuce, until he does start to eat then change him back to his normal routine. He needs food and you have to do ANYTHING to give him water, or he will die.

Don't worry, he's adjusting to his new home he will eat he must be very anxious and nervous. Rodents have a lot of anxiety and get excited easily.

maybe he has no apetite to eat and drink. It may cause to serious problems. Maybe give him a food that he really like to eat and a clean water to drink on.
