When I visit some websites (usually ones with pop-ups), my IE popup blocker will display the yellow bar across the top of the page. No more than 15 seconds later, I get a message saying something about inserting a disk to install Microsoft Office Suite 97. Why? I don't even have Microsoft Office 97 (I have Microsoft Office XP)

Chances are that you may have had some Office 97 files installed at one time. Did you upgrade from Office 97 to Office XP?

One of the best things to do - if you have the Office XP software is to completely uninstall Office XP and reinstall fresh. That way when it uninstalls it will probably remove any upgraded references to Office 97 as well.

You are trying to view a website which your current system is not capable of handling. You are simply being told that if you want to visit a particular website, you will have to have MSOffice97.

You say you don't have Office97 - so, forget about it and go somewhere else.
