No, Fo is good. Poi is made out of Tarot root. But the only tarot I found was at whole foods and it was the little kind-I need the big purple kind.
Poi is similar to grits.

You can find taro at Chinese grocery stores. I'm not sure what part of town you're in, but there's a couple in Plano at Coit&Park and Legacy&75. There are also other Asian grocery stores in Carrolton (Japanese) and Irving (Korean).

Hmmm. . . I'm not sure how to spell it, so maybe you are talking about something different, but do you mean the Vietnamese soup that's supposed to be really good for hangovers? It sounds like it would be pronounces "fo"?
