Don't get circumcised. There are little benefits. It's a fact that uncircumcised men enjoy sex more than circumcised men.
And when you masturbate the foreskin lets you decide if you want lubricant or not. I don't remember the statistic but I think it was close to 20 or 30% of the total nerve endings of the penis is in the foreskin making sex more enjoyable.
As far a pulling it back it will likely hurt, I had the same problem when I was 16 and I started pulling it slowly and carefully while on the shower. If you do this everyday in a couple of months you should be able to pull it all the way back. Tip: be gentle and take it one day at a time.

Well I come from a country where a big part of the population is Muslim and boys get done this procedure ;o)) However, they do it when they are still between 5-10 years old. I don't know however for what reason. So 17 is a bit late, but still possible.
Then: Do you really need it? It depends on your religion largely - usually it is done only with Muslim boys (at least in my country).
And if you want to know if you would win something by being circumcised I can tell you what Muslims have told me on that:
- it is done for hygienic reason - it is just easier to wash your d**k without the foreskin :o)))
- without the foreskin the head of the d**k becomes harder and less sensual, meaning that you would eventually satisfy your partner better and longer, but would not feel very much of it :o))
Now you choose :o)))

The foreskin excretes a chemical called Smegma which can build up under the foreskin. This buildup can catch other materials like lint, or bacteria and viruses. It also makes the male member taste bad during oral sex.

I am not circumcised and I clean my foreskin with every shower. You simply pull back the foreskin and clean it as you would clean the rest of your body. I prefer to use a washcloth, and soap in the shower. On sex adviser suggests that you let your lover do it for you. However, you do it manipulating the foreskin doesn't cause you any bleeding or pain unless you are trying to remove it.

Circumcision is possible as an adult, but it will be painful for a few days after the operation.

According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smegma
"Smegma, a transliteration of the Greek word σμήγμα for soap, is a combination of exfoliated (shed) epithelial cells, transudated skin oils, moisture, and bacteria that can accumulate under the foreskin of males and within the female vulva area, with a characteristic strong odor and taste. Smegma is common to all mammals, male and female. Mycobacterium smegmatis is the characteristic bacterium involved in smegma production, and is generally thought to form smegma from epidermal secretions."

If you have a tight foreskin that will make for difficult masturbation and sexual intercourse. In some cases it makes peeing difficult. The only solution is a circumcision. Many adolescents and adults have a circumcision done. It is a painless procedure with a local anesthetic. Pain is rare afterwards. Recovery in a few days. No sex for a month.

In any case go for it. Women like it better. You will have full penis sensation from shaft to glans (head). It is easier to keep clean. It is not mutilation. It is plastic surgery done as an outpatient. Check with a urologist.

Do you NEED to be circumcised? No. Is it the best possible treatment in your case? Probably. It'll solve your problem (known medically as phimosis), improve the look and definitely the smell of your penis, in most cases improve sex when you start having sex (no skin in the way).

I'm not a doctor, just a fellow guy (22 years old here) who wants to be circumcised. Unlike you, I don't have a medical problem, my foreskin is just *really* long and uncomfortable because of it and I get lots of infections despite cleaning a lot. You're lucky - you'll be able to get insurance to pay for your cut! I have to wait until I can afford it :( Grrr I'm so mad my parents didn't have me circ'd when I was born!

Yes, I think you should go and get Circumcised...Since you never pulled the skin back I'm sure it is dirty...You are always suppose to pull the skin back to keep it clean..Not keeping clean can cause an infection...Since you never pull the skin back it might be easier for you to keep it clean being Circumcised...Getting circumcised at this age is going to be very painful at your age but it might be worth it for you.

My husband is 29 and was never circumcised he doesn't like it and when we first met he was ashamed. It's no big deal his has never bled or anything else like that. Don't be afraid it's nothing and remember people survived long before they thought of that anyway. Whats the big deal its a little extra skin.

If you cannot pull your foreskin all the way back to fully expose the groove beneath the head, you should be circumcised without delay. It is far better to be circumcised and afterwards you will enjoy better hygiene, comfort, appearance, self esteem and FAR better sexual sensation for both you and your female partners. All men should be circumcised!

No it will not bleed, you won't feel any pain at all. And you need to pull it back to clean well underneath it. It's natural that it's there. Most boys get it removed when they're born.

Also...you have to pull it back to have sex.
