Birkenstock are very comfortable. I think you should definitely go ahead with them! They will feel hard at first, but just suck it in and wear them for a few days 'cause they will eventually adapt to you. After a little while, you'll see your own customized footprint on the footbed, which indicates that it's moulded to your feet.

Make sure they are the correct size, you wouldn't want to wear them if they're not. If you're looking at sandels, you have to push your heels right to the end of the rim and see where your toes land. You need only a small small gap of space because your toes should really be just underneath the rim at the front of the shoe. For enclosed shoes with socks, try a size bigger. Enjoy!!

Yes, I do own many Birki's because they truly re-align my posture and make it comfortable for me to walk all day. To be pain free is priceless! Also, the products are very well made and there are some of the newest styles out with a polyurethane sole that appears to out last most everything. Raised toe bar. It encourages the natural gripping motion of your feet, exercises your legs, and improves circulation. Foot bed form gives a healthful shape for your foot. I also like the arch support the curves in the foot-bed ensure even weight distribution and proper support. A neutral heel cup keeps the foot's natural padding directly under the heel as nature intended. The sole is flexible, durable, lightweight, shock resistant, and replaceable cork/latex base gives support and reduces fatigue. Soft suede insole now can come padded as well for extra comfort with a unique soft footbed available on selected Florida and Arizona sandals, offering immediately comfort and Birkenstock footbed contours and health benefits without the break-in period normally required for Classic footbeds. I hope this was helpful! :D

Yes I own Birkis and they are very comfortable I have worn them year round for three years. (which says a lot since i live in montana. I have been wearing the same pair for the full three years. I did have to get some work done on them the cork was pulling away from the sole of the sandle. But that was b/c i wore them into a lake, everyday for a month. But the best part about it was the replacement was free.

A word of caution, they take a little getting used to for a couple reasons. 1. they mold to your feet which take a couple weeks. 2. you have to scrunch your toes when you walk to hold them on.

They were a big thing for a long time and many companies tried to make spin offs of them. I see people wearing them still(with socks in the winter)I have never owned a pair but everyone I know that has them swears by them.

Yeah. The Boston™ style [most common, slide on.], i've had mine for about 3 years now, and they are so worth the money, they don't tear up easy, and if they do, you can take them back to where you got them and get them repaired for a small price. I think they are very comfortable.
