lowracer knows what he's talking about. There is lot to consider. MMA's are very good and less brittle than epoxies. This means more impact can be taken before joint failure. For the most strength weld similar metals or glue dissimilar substrates.

The best common glue I have found, is JB Weld. We use it for repairing Motorcycles.

try GORILLA Glue, this stuff is the best. They also make a tape that is far better than Duct tape

J-B Weld. Buy it at an auto parts or a hardware store. If they don't sell J-B, DON'T GO BACK.
If you really want to stick it together buy an $80 arc welder at home depot.

it depends on what you are trying to fasten to the metal. metal to metal? fiberglass or carbon fiber to metal? plastic to metal?
there are many epoxies that will do this job, but what conditions must this joint endure over time? heat, cold, vibration, uv rays, water, acids? all of the above?

In my opinion, you cannot beat J.B. Weld. Just make sure you follow the instructions exactly and try not to get it on you.
