is it true that you stop growing about 18 months after puberty?

Yeah, somewhere between 1-3 years. I quit growing at 13 after starting my period at 11. I googled it too, source below.

That is not true at all, if that was true, we will all be ALOT shorter. Anyway, most people stop growing by the time they reach 21. Girls will stop growing a bit earlier than boys though. Girls ususally stop at 18-19, and boys 20-21. Hope this helps! ^_^
ps: I dont know how old you are, but if you have already reached and passed puberty, Are you the same height now as you were 18 months after puberty ? lol

NO...boys tend grow till they're 21. Girls till they're 18. Unless you have a ptiuatary gland problem, then you will grow till you stop.

sort of, you stop growing about 18 months after you get your first period (for most girls, not all)

That is absolutely not true! Who told you that?
Most people's growth plates close around age 20.

uhhh....NO!!!!
That would mean most women would be the height they were when they were around 15...that means most of us would be a helluva lot shorter!!
