Ok i've been here and i'vce noticed there are 14 yr olds and down asking how to lose weight and/or gain a six pack. It's like you have to be skinny or tall and muscular to be "cool". Sad huh? Tell me what you think!

Extremely sad and dangerous. Eating disorders are extremely dangerous and often result in death. I have a friend that died from anorexia, a frightening condition.

I agree 100%. But when you were that age, how worried were you of what everyone else thought of you. It takes some time to grow out of it so I usually just try give healthy advice and try and deter the diet pills or starvation diet questions.

The ones like, "Um, I'm 5"2' and I weigh 90 pounds and I need to lose 20 pounds for the dance this saturday. Is it ok for me to eat three bottles of diet pills and not eat until then?" Yeah, it's sad, but you've got nothing other than school to worry about at that age. There is no work or money problems, or real relationships problems, it all gets back to school and impressing those at school. You can't really blame them.

We all have different bodies, for example big bones and small bones. Ideal weigh varies. 14 years old are developing and they they are expected to have baby fat. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is so much beauty and beauty has many different forms and faces. Please young ladies do not go on a diet you are still developing instead learn about nutrition and how to cook so that you can eat healthy and not have a weight problem

I think I'm 350+ pounds, 49 years old, happily married and I do need to lose weight; a problem on which I am currently working. But, notice my stats: 49 YEARS OLD, people!!! At 14 and younger, you are asking for a lot of health problems and emotional issues if you can't learn to accept yourself. I'm not saying to not have valid goals for self-improvement; but make sure they are reasonable goals and that you want to accomplish for yourself and not just to impress someone else.

It's a difficult age where they are trying to fit in and don't have a lot of confidence. In our culture - it's natural. Hopefully, they will mature and realize there is more to life -

Yes I have noticed but I think it's just curious young teenagers asking questions to see what others think.

Sadly, that's what our culture is teaching them. Open any magazine, watch any commercial & what do you see? No wonder so many teens suffer from anorexia & buhlimia.
