ive noticed that roads have only one color and that is grey. ive been asking about it but no one could answer. ive also searched the internet but they give no answer. i mean there can be black or blue or red. or can be white. why grey?

Well when the concrete gets laid down it is originally black. The later turns grey after some time. The reasoning for black and this later grey is because it easier to see the road paint. It is also less distracting when driving.

Because the color of the concrete and the color of the recycled tire used in the road make up of most road ways here. The colors on the road like white and yellow go best with grey and it would be too hard to see black and too distracting to see red. The cheapest is best.

because pavement starts out black but then fades as time goes by to grey. and as for having a colored road think of how distracting some bright color would be and white would basically blind you.

There are plenty of black roads. I have seen blacktop roads in many states.

If you are referring to concrete roads--there are dyes that they can add to make them red, yellow, green, etc. But it is not cheap.

because roads are made of cement which naturally turns into a grayish color, it would just cost a lot of extra money to dye it purple.

Another color would be a waste. And another toxin into the environment, due to paint pigment and resins.

they are more black initially and get faded to grey. if you go to PA on route 84, in parts they are RED.

I've seen a road in Colorado that is reddish.
