I have a 360 with a wireless network adaptor and a 12 month xbox live subscription gold. I'm logged in and everything, but it is just that I can find any matches or a single person in the game. Am I missing something because I just want to get in the game and play some halo.

It's not your Xbox, it's was Xbox live. Xbox Live was having technical difficulties last night. Xbox Live should work fine now.
