Thats the price that apple sets for them so retailers cant really mess with it. So, no, you didnt get ripped off technically but you could buy the 30gig ipod for $250 so its just the way you look at it. Whoever buys the 8gig nano for the regular price of $250 is probably gettin ripped off unless they really need the small size and more memory.

You did not get ripped-off. That is the full retail price from Apple.

I paid 190$ for mine at Costco. [:
But, the normal resale price is $199.99 on the Apple website and most electronics stores.
Walmart has them for $197.89.
