No, you can't bring food unfourtunatly. It's just best to check the crossroads cause thats where most of the treasure is. Only hint is to eat really full and dig 3 times deep at the most. any normal treasure will be hidden there.
P.S the metal detector doesn't work at all for the caves. And the caves is to much of chance.
