UFO stands for unidentified flying objects. They can be anything that flies which can't be Identified as a proper plane. And some UFO sight seeing has turned out to be a special type of cloud formation.
So there might be UFO's with little green men but we are not sure at this crutial point.

1. UFO does not mean an alien space vessel. UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object. That means something that can be seen in the air but you cannot tell what it is.

2. If you see something in the air and do not know what it is, this does not mean that it is an alien craft.

3. There are LOTS of things that people see in the air and that person cannot identify what they are seeing, so yes, they indeed saw a UFO. From this, UFOs are totally real and people see them all the time(just UFOs, that doesn't mean it was aliens).

Now let's talk about alien ships because it sounds like that might have been what you are thinking about. UFOs could be anything.

Some people believe that a UFO they saw was an alien ship. Does this mean that it really WAS an alien ship? Let's think about it. Millions of people see things in the sky and cannot identify what they see. Thousands of people believe that what they saw was an alien ship. Here's something to consider

"One-quarter of all Americans met the criteria for having a mental illness within the past year, and fully a quarter of those had a "serious" disorder that significantly disrupted their ability to function day to day, according to the largest and most detailed survey of the nation's mental health, published yesterday."(1)

Given this we have 1/4 of a 1/4 of roughly 300,000,000 americans qualify as having "serious" mental disorders. That works out to almost 19 million. If you take 19 million people who are not in a totally sound mental state and keep exposing them to strange things that they can't identify or understand, do you think that sometimes, some of them will come up with explanations that aren't quite justifiable? I think it's pretty safe to say that they will.

We know there are people who are a little crazy around, or maybe people who are just uninformed, or maybe people who just like to believe in aliens despite a lack of evidence (they like conspiracy theories or hate the government and believe it's all covered up etc). These people offer an explanation for why you hear of endless thousands of reports of alien ships in the sky.

Given thousands of reports of alien ship sightings, does this prove that there are aliens flying in the sky? does it prove that it is likely they are there? or does it just show you that there are some people who don't have their heads on quite straight, or like to exaggerate things, or make a good story?

You decide which one you think is more likely.

All i know and think is that there must be other life on other planets, we cant possibly be the only existence out of all of the other solar systems out there. I'm not talking scientifically here but just personal opinion but being non bias, if there werent UFO's then that would make us the most intelligent in the whole solar system (i.e travellling to other planets)........who knows if this is really true or not, hence there might actually be UFO's if there is some other kind more intelligent that us but saying this there might be another life form from another galaxy who might not be able to reach earth.....but might do one day....who knows.... technology and research might find out one day.

It would be great to find other life beings but to find out if they can create space craft better than NASA would be freaky big time (cos they think they know it all.or do they? maybe they do and just dont tell us) kind of puts our minds in overdrive wondering what might come.

Some of them are faked, but some are not. The real question is, if someone or a group of someones were financially benefiting from keeping UFO's hidden, would you be informed about the truth?

A UFO would have to travel at the speed of LIGHT for over 200 years to reach earth. That's how far away a hypothetical civilisation might be. Space is just far too big, and even if other civilisations do exist, they'd be far too far away and scattered across the universe to ever reach here- they're really not gonna come all this way just to make some pretty crop circles...

Inosfar as they are "unidentified", the definition is pretty much wide open. UFO literally means that you don't know what it is, but it appears to be flying.

anything that is in the air that they can not identify is a ufo so yes.

Unidentified Flying Objects must exist, as not every flying object observed is identified.

As to what they would turn out to be identified as if we could, who knows?
